   Early-stage AI startup building a knowledge base that saves, summarizes, and surfaces content on demand.

   Led the architecture and implementation of a zero-downtime database engine migration using phased rollouts and dual writes, and built a service for data validation, integrity verification, and automated recovery.

   Partnered with founders on architecture, vendor evaluation, infrastructure, and long-term technical strategy. Led discussions on scalability, data modelling, and production reliability while resolving complex production issues.

2. 2022

   Zendesk (WFM)

   June 2022 — April 2026

   Tech Lead ← Senior Software Engineer

   Designed and owned a high-throughput event-driven automation platform using Kafka, MySQL, Redis, and Kubernetes that executed workforce-management actions from configurable business rules, and a distributed real-time notification platform across the Zendesk UI. Owned the authentication service — enterprise SSO at high availability — and built REST and gRPC integrations with TypeScript, Go, PHP, Node.js, Kafka, and MySQL.

   Owned reliability, security, and performance across the service lifecycle: incident response, capacity planning, on-call, postmortems, load testing, internal penetration testing, and vulnerability remediation. Led engineering-wide observability improvements, defined technical roadmaps, and simultaneously served as Senior Software Engineer, Tech Lead, and Acting Engineering Manager.

   HTEC Group

   September 2021 — April 2022

   Senior Software Engineer

   Maintained and extended backend services behind Kurt Geiger's retail operation, covering returns, refunds, and shipping.

4. 2016

   MCI

   July 2016 — September 2021

   CTO ← Software Engineer

   Built an internal platform for PowerSchool staff to profile universities and guide students toward suitable majors, processing large datasets on AWS with PHP, Python, Java, and JavaScript, exposed over REST, GraphQL, and ElasticSearch. Developed a UK government-funded platform for Care Quality Commission inspectors to automate and standardize field reporting.

   Led a team of 10 engineers across in-house and outsourced projects, owned the company-wide technical roadmap, improved developer experience, and represented technical capabilities to clients. Made hiring and staffing decisions, and mentored interns and junior colleagues.
